Joanne Michel has been teaching at The Australian Ballet School for 23 years. She joined the faculty in 2003 after a stellar career as a Principal Artist with The Australian Ballet and later Nederlands Dans Theater. Since 2004, she has notably served as a Ballet Mistress and teacher for the graduate year (Level 8) female program, guiding young dancers at the highest level with exceptional expertise, insight, and care.

With an extraordinary understanding of technique, artistry, and performance, Joanne is renowned for her ability to bring out the very best in each dancer. Her classes are intelligent, challenging, and deeply inspiring, cultivating not only strong, versatile artists but also confident, thoughtful, and resilient individuals
