Born in Russia, Svetlana graduated from the prestigious Perm State Ballet School where she studied in the Vaganova Method and graduated under one of Russia’s most famous teachers Ludmilla Saharova. Ludmilla is also renown for training Rogosina-Panova Galina, Nadegda Pavlova, Olga Chenchikova and many other famous artists.
Upon graduation Svetlana was offered a contact with the Perm Ballet Theatre from 1978- 1982 where she reached Principal Status. During her time in the company Svetlana was invited in 1981 to compete in the prestigious and international Moscow competition where she was acknowledged for her talents and awarded with Silver Medal.
Having has such wonderful success as an artist she was thus offered Principal status in one of Russias renown and top companies Stanislavski and Nemirovich Danchenko Theatre from 1982-1991, where today the famous Sergey Polunin is a regular guest artist of this company. In 1984, Svetlana was yet again invited to compete in another international ballet competition, this time held in Osaka Japan where she performed with her partner Nikolay Fedorov, a Principal with the Bolshoi Theatre. After an outstanding performance they were awarded Bronze medal.
After 13 successful years in Russia, Svetlana moved to Portugal where she was a Principal at the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos from 1991-1993.
Proceeding an illustrious career contracted to professional companies over a time span of 15 years, Svetlana, like many sought after principal dancers became a freelance guest artist, allowing her to guest with multiple prestigious and renowned companies world wide.
After retiring from the stage Svetlana was the company repetiteur at Moscow Classical Ballet Company from 2000- 2010, she is looking forward to joining the Academy in 2019 and offering her wealth of knowledge and experience in Repetoire and Variations.
