Melbourne Academy of the Arts’ system of training is in the Russian Vaganova Method. Across the world, the Vaganova Method is acknowledged as “The number one system of training for classical ballet”.
ENTRY INTO THE PROGRAM
Entry into the CEP Program is by audition only. The program is designed to have no more than 10 students per class (under the sole discretion of the Academy). Generally speaking there are only a handful of students selected per level.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The C.E.P curriculum is focused on further extending, perfecting, and progressing the student’s training and knowledge. Pupils who wish to apply for the program are evaluated on their desire to enhance their skills and increase their training in the aims of a potential career as a professional dancer. Students are assessed on their technical ability & natural aptitude, there is also an assessment of anatomy and an assessment of character (personality), maturity, seriousness, etiquette and behaviour that goes into consideration when selecting students for this program.
IS THIS PROGRAM OPEN TO EXTERNAL STUDENTS?
The CEP Program is augmented with our regular part-time program curriculum and training, as such, it is only for MAARTS Students. We do however offer external students the opportunity to train at MAARTS via our Associate Intensive Program (AIP). A.I.P is a sector of the Academy that provides external students; who are unable to train at MAARTS on a regular basis, the opportunity to work amongst our high-aptitude peers, offering them access to our training programs where they can benefit from our highly skilled faculty and teaching methodology. Successfully accepted applicants will train at the Academy on pre-organized and mutually convenient times throughout the year. For more information on our AIP Program please CLICK HERE
