Entry into the CEP Program is by audition only. The program is designed to have no more than 10 students per class (under the sole discretion of the Academy). Generally speaking there are only a handful of students selected per level. Pupils who wish to apply for the program are evaluated on their desire to enhance their skills and increase their training in the aims of a potential career as a professional dancer. Students are assessed on their technical ability & natural aptitude, there is also an assessment of anatomy and an assessment of character (personality), maturity, seriousness, etiquette and behaviour that goes into consideration when selected students for this program.
The C.E.P curriculum is focused on further extending, perfecting and progressing the students training and knowledge of the fundamentals of classical ballet.
Areas of focus include; Core strength, Foundation & Technique, Musicality & Rhythm, Performance skills, Imagination, Mime & Improvisation, Floor Barre & Ball Barre, Pilates, Character, National/Historical Dance, Anatomy, Body Awareness & Self Correction, Coordination, Flexibility, Limber & Conditioning, Dance Vocabulary, Theory, Dance Vocabulary & French Terminology, Repetoire & Choreography, Planning, Goal Setting, Time Management, Examinations & Assessments.
System of Training: The system of training for our CEP Program is the same as all our other programs, the Russian Vaganova Method. Our Character & Historical Dance curriculum & training follows the the International Character Dance Syllabus.

Students successfully accepted into the CEP program have set minimal training requirements; depending on their division the hours will vary. As an idea students can train anywhere from 6 hrs per week in the younger divisions through to 20 hrs per week for the middle and senior schools.

The CEP Program is augmented with our regular part-time program curriculum and training, as such it is only for MAARTS Students. We do however offer external students with the opportunity to train at MAARTS via our Associate Intensive Program (AIP).
AIP is a sector of the Academy that provides external students; who are unable to train at MAARTS on a regular basis, the opportunity to work amongst our high-aptitude peers, offering them access to our training programs where they can benefit from our highly skilled faculty and teaching methodology. Successfully accepted applicants will train at the Academy on pre-organised and mutually convenient times throughout the year.
